OUR HERITAGE

Ashford & District Rifle Club has its origins in the Ashford Rifle Club and Ashford Miniature Rifle Club, which were both started around 1900. These clubs went through several organisational changes until the start of the Second World War, when shooting was suspended. In 1943 Ashford & District Rifle Club was formed, using the T.A. range in Newtown road. When the International Station car park was built, the range was demolished and the club looked for a home of its own.

Work began on the site at Great Chart in the mid 1990’s and opened for shooting in 2000, in 2022 an outdoor 50m range was added.
